Needle In A Haystack is a free browser game with no accounts. We collect as little as we can. This page explains exactly what that is.
What we never collect
No accounts, passwords, email addresses, real names or payment details. You never need to give us any of these to play.
What stays in your browser
The game uses your browser's local storage to remember your settings (graphics, look sensitivity, sound), your Free Play progress (coins, tools, needles found), the nickname you last used on the leaderboard, and a random ID for this browser. This stays on your device; clearing your browser data removes it.
The leaderboard
When you submit a Daily Challenge time, our server stores the time, the optional nickname you typed, the tools you used, the date and the random browser ID (so each browser counts once per day). Nicknames are public on the leaderboard, so please don't use your real name or anything personal — names that look like emails, phone numbers or links are refused.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the game people play, such as how many runs are started and finished. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it runs in a cookieless mode by default.
